One of the things that has hit me about being a parent is that time passes fast. Bloody fast! The combination of work and fatherhood has left me a little shell shocked. It’s not that I can’t cope…it’s that all we do is cope.

I’ve made myself a resolution to take time every once in a while to make sure I appreciate the wonderful life I have. Photography can help that. An hour sitting in front of lightroom NOT processing, but going back over older photographs really helps take stock of life. It’s a great way to reset your mind and get back to what’s important.

I will also ensure that Alison and Holly get the best of me…not just the half spent sorry state of a man that can walk in the door after work. A quick run, a shower and a change of clothes…and I’m ready for an evening of fun.

The wind and rain in Scotland at the moment has meant that I’m not getting out the house to take photographs. I know I can take them round the house, but I find it difficult to be inspired by stuff that I see every day.

I’ve taken solice in my laptop, and a cool little program called Gawker, which helps you make time-lapse videos. It’s great fun. See my latest effort below.

I’ve been playing with Gawker for OSX. It’s a great tool that helps you make time-lapse video. I’d like to do something a bit more inventive, but in the mean time, this is my first attempt.
